The Park Plaza, Ballygunge – Live in Absolute Comfort

A person who enters through the gates of the Park Plaza, Ballygunge may be one who intends to book a room there for staying. He may also be one who intends to have a hearty meal in any of its restaurants. Generally speaking, no one can find the exact intention: Staying or enjoying. This unpredictability does not deter the staff of the Park Plaza in any way. After all, this hotel has a wealth of facilities that are more than capable of satisfying the needs and wants of its visitors. The next two paragraphs will paint a clear picture through a short, hypothetical story.

An individual arrives at Kolkata for a business trip of two days. His company has arranged for his accommodation at the Park Plaza in Ballygunge. Upon collecting his baggage and arriving at the receiving area of the airport, he finds a car waiting for him. A smart chauffer says that he has been sent by the hotel to collect him. Although, this information was known beforehand, the tired frame cannot help but draw a smile on his face. The ride is not a very long one, but enough for witnessing the splendour of the city in the night time. Upon reaching the hotel, the check-in formalities are completed quickly and a chic room welcomes him, perhaps with a smile, if it had been a human.

However, the bellboy who brings his dapper suitcase is one, and, therefore, puts on a pleasant smile as he hands down the menu and asks for the order. It’s well past midnight with the entire city slumbering; therefore, the menu turns out to be yet another pleasant surprise. A quick shower, the paperback on the bed and a couple of minutes of lazily surfing through the channels in the television – this is all the time it takes for the extremely delicious food to arrive. With a content heart, a refreshed countenance and a filled stomach, the person retires for the night.

So, this simple story seems too good to be true – as far as any practical reader is concerned. However, a fitting end to this write-up would be the advice: It’s always better to experience the ecstasy rather than reading about it.
